Sesshin
Sesshin offers a unique opportunity to deepen your practice in a supportive atmosphere.
Sesshin dates 2026
For 2026, we are offering residential sesshins in Ardfern on the following weeks:
April sesshin
April 10th – 17th (deadline to apply: March 10th)
June sesshin
June 26th – July 3rd (deadline to apply: May 26th)
October sesshin
October 9th – 16th (deadline to apply: September 9th)
Our sesshins are seven-day silent retreats we hold three times a year. At the moment we are offering sesshin in spring (April), summer (June), and autumn (October). Until the Retreat Centre Project becomes a reality all our sesshins are held at Lerigoligan, a beautiful location in Ardfern, Argyll & Bute.
Sesshin is conducted in disciplined silence, with every aspect of the day supporting whole-hearted practice and focus on the present moment. Dokusan (one-to-one instruction with a teacher) is offered three times a day, and additional sitting, outside of the formal rounds, is encouraged. Prior zazen experience is required to participate in our sesshins.
